Tunghai University is designed by I.M. Pei and Chi-Kwan Chen. It is a masterpiece of revolutionizing the traditional Chinese garden and architecture from a uniquely western perspective. It exudes a poetry aura of peace while balancing the school’s intense activities implicitly.

However, the precious campus vibe may be spoiled because student enrollment increases the demand for housing. Therefore, how to plan housings fitting into the orchestrated atmosphere is a serious issue.

Statement: Modern students lack self-identity

False Reality, people, fake, building, facade, true self

Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be? - Charles Bukowski

We grow up in a false reality. People fake their emotions instead of dealing with them. People dress themselves to impress others instead of showing who they are. People love fancy solutions instead of facing actual problems. So, how do modern students build true self in this world?

thyself, ego, self-awareness, self-healing, education

To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom. - Aristotle

Reflection is critical, especially for students at the most confusing age in this information overload age. It helps build self-awareness, self-healing, and moreover, know themselves. Tunghai University is a well-designed campus, which is filled with inspirations and self-reflecting spaces. So, how to let modern students take the advantage of the campus to reflect?

Strategy: Create a dorm that fits into the campus aura and leads students to reflect
